HairStyle AI ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the HairStyle AI mobile application and the website at myhairstyleai.com (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and a password (stored as a salted hash) when you create an account.
- Photos: selfies and any other photos you upload to generate hairstyle previews.
- Style preferences: hair length, gender, style vibes, and other inputs you choose during onboarding and generation.
- Saved styles: the AI-generated images you choose to save to your library.
- Support correspondence: messages you send when contacting our support team.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system, and app version, used to diagnose issues and ensure compatibility.
- Usage data: features used, generations made, timestamps, and crash diagnostics.
- Purchase information: subscription status, plan, and renewal dates received from Google Play, Apple, or RevenueCat. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
2. How we use your information
- To generate hairstyle previews and personalized recommendations.
- To deliver, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
- To respond to support requests and important account notices.
- To diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and fix bugs (aggregated and anonymized where possible).
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How your photos are handled
Your photos are the most sensitive data the Service handles. We treat them accordingly:
- Encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and at rest in our cloud storage providers.
- Used only to generate the previews you request and to power the features described above.
- Never sold, traded, or shared with advertisers or third parties for their own purposes.
- Never used to train AI models. We use third-party AI providers under terms that prohibit them from training on your data.
- Deletable on demand. You can delete individual photos, saved styles, or your entire account from the app settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
4. Third-party service providers
We share limited data with the following processors strictly to operate the Service:
- AI generation providers (e.g. fal.ai, Leonardo.ai) to produce hairstyle previews from your photos.
- Cloud storage and hosting (e.g. DigitalOcean Spaces, Supabase) to store account data, photos, and generated images.
- Payment and subscription management (Google Play Billing, Apple App Store, RevenueCat) to process and verify purchases.
- Analytics and crash reporting for app stability and usage metrics, anonymized where feasible.
Each provider is bound by contractual data-protection terms and processes data only on our instructions.
5. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Photos and generated images remain until you delete them or close your account. Deleted data is removed from active systems immediately and purged from backups within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and personal data (in-app, or by contacting us).
- Export a copy of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Children
HairStyle AI is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, security monitoring, and regular reviews — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email.
